Insoluble poultry protein is processed into polypeptides and amino acids having molecular weights low enough to be soluble. (Bones are removed as well as most of the fat.) Solubilization of protein conducted under controlled conditions of temperature, time and pH. The select enzymatic hydrolysis allows maximum availability and digestibility of the protein product. After removal of insoluble minerals, the remaining whole liquid is defatted, concentrated, pasteurized, and spray dried under vacuum at a low temperature (<82°C) to insure proper nutritional value and amino acid utilization. An antioxidant and an inert anti-caking agent is added at < 1%.

Poultry protein hydrolysate is characterized by high levels of digestible protein. Solubility, palatability, digestibility, and molecular weight of this unique product makes HPPC highly suitable for a variety of uses in starter formulas, pet foods, mink feed, and aquaculture diets for crustaceans, fish and eel.
